Bobby Jindal and Fred Thompson both have come out today saying that they wish Obama would fail.
This country has lost sight of the idea that you are only as strong as your weakest citizen. People are losing their jobs, their homes, and their retirement funds. Yet, the other side continues to play partisan, turning a blind eye to what really matters. These games look petty to the American people that are being affected by this. The top five percent have had a good ride these past few years and with money and power comes the greed for more money and power. We have let the poorest fall down while we have been the ones carrying the carrot stick. The difference in ideology is that democrats want to help them up, just get them back on their feet again and let them follow whatever carrot stick they would like. Republicans think that they are doing just fine lying on the ground, if they fell it was their fault and we have no business helping them up.
"Republicans, in their radio response, warned that Democratic spending priorities threaten to destroy the American dream that hard work can build a better life for each successive generation of citizens."

""Now, instead of working hard so our children can have a better life tomorrow, we are asking our children to work hard so that we don't have to make tough choices today," Burr said."
i was stumbling around on the internet when i found this on msnbc. If anything, it is more of a reason that we need change and we need an Obama presidency. I don't know how much stock i hold in this article because we have had threats before, but it is a scary thought either way
This has got to stop. Never in my life have i seen such a sorry excuse for racism. When did people stop being people, potential leaders of our country, and start to be objects of hate? These small-minded people are on the other side, and i am happy for that.
What i can compare this to is Thanksgiving dinner... now you have the adults' table and the kids' table. Every year there is that one yougin that thinks they are experienced enough to finally sit with the big boys and girls. For the first few hours of this family get together all you can hear is the drone of said yougin listing off the reasons why they should be able to interact with the adults this year and when their annoying pleas go unheard, they will do anything, including doing jumping jacks in front of the t.v. to get your attention. Every year we say the same thing..."Maybe next year..." until they eventually get the hint...
My question for the last night of the convention is:
What do we do now? If we thought that the ads from McCain were bad, are we really going to wait for them to get their brainstorming going during and after their convention? Are we going to wait for a repeat of 2004? I guess my real question is this: Is it time for the democrats to hit hard or do you think that negative ads would only hurt?
Things around here have gotten a bit too much like a kindergarten playground. Hilary didn't get either nominations so you can either a.) dig your feet into the ground, kicking and screaming that it just isn't fair or b.) realize that if you shut your mouth and open your eyes, you may learn something here.
Have we all fallen for the cowboy mentality? The world isn't fair and you don't always get what you want. This is a means to an end that we all want. We want a better future. We want to stop being put on the edge of our seats with fear or despair at whatever the president is doing in foreign or home soil. There is too much at stake to have such a division in the party.
